Only Discuss Genuine Employment Opportunities

Employers using Ur Crew should only contact you regarding genuine employment opportunities. If you receive communication that seems unrelated to employment, we encourage you to stop the conversation and report it to us.

Never Send Money

A genuine employer should never ask you to:

  • Pay money to apply for a job;
  • Purchase equipment before employment;
  • Transfer money on their behalf;
  • Provide banking passwords or security codes.
 

If anyone asks you to do this, end communication immediately.

Protect Your Personal Information

Do not provide unnecessary personal or financial information before you have confirmed that an employment opportunity is genuine. Be cautious about sharing:

  • Bank account details;
  • Passport information;
  • Driver’s licence details;
  • Tax file number;
  • Passwords or security codes.
 

Only provide information that is reasonably required as part of a legitimate recruitment or employment process.

Meet Safely

Where possible, initial interviews should take place:

  • At the employer’s business premises;
  • By video call; or
  • In another appropriate professional setting.
 

If you ever feel uncomfortable, trust your instincts and leave the situation. If attending an interview in person, consider telling a friend or family member where you are going.

Be Alert for Scams

Be cautious if an employer:

  • Offers a job without speaking to you;
  • Promises unusually high pay for little work;
  • Pressures you to act immediately;
  • Asks you to communicate outside normal recruitment channels for suspicious reasons.
 

If something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

Report Suspicious Behaviour

If you believe an employer has acted inappropriately or misused Ur Crew, please report the matter to us as soon as possible. We investigate reports seriously and may suspend or permanently remove users who breach our standards.
